BIT'S AND PIECES FROM OUR LIFE TOGETHER

Laws They Don’t Teach in Physics:

Law of Mechanical Repair After your hands become coated with grease, your nose will begin to itch and you’ll need the toilet. Law of Gravity Any tool, nut, bolt, screw, when dropped, will roll to the least accessible place in the universe. Law of Probability The probability of being watched is directly proportional to the stupidity of your act. Law of Random Numbers If you dial a wrong number, you…

Celebrating holiday with old and new technology

The spectacular July 4 fireworks display you’re about to see was photographed by videographer Jos Stiglingh a year ago in Florida. He flew a DJI Phantom 2 quadcopter deep into the fireworks show and recorded it with an attached GoPro Hero 3 videocam. The performance — or rather, the entire collection of performances — was high-risk for a flying camera passing inside all that explosive technology. We’re in considerably less…

Greywater Guidelines

Greywater Guidelines by Douglas Barnes The guidelines in this article are based on Art Ludwig’s industry-leading work. For further information on greywater systems, please refer to Ludwig’s Create an Oasis with Greywater, Branched Drain Greywater Systems, and Builder’s Greywater Guide. Only 0.6% of the world’s freshwater is immediately available on the surface via lakes and rivers; and only 0.037% is in the atmosphere at any one time. Industrial activity and industrial agriculture consume…

There’s been no news since November 2014 because…. …our builder Patrick O’ Neill from PM Roofrooms appears to have absconded. After many delays over the past 9 months completion was promised by the end of February 2015. No builder has been on site since the beginning of February. A hike through Spain‘s El Caminito del Rey

A hike through Spain‘s El Caminito del Rey (“The King’s Little Pathway”) is not for the faint of heart. In fact, the narrow pathways, incredible height, and sharp rocks below are the stuff of nightmares. I don’t know how the person filmed and walked at the same time.
